What Is the MBUSA Tire Program Road Hazard Program?

The MBUSA Tire Program Road Hazard Program is a tire replacement benefit that may apply to eligible tires purchased from a participating Mercedes-Benz retailer and installed on the covered Mercedes-Benz vehicle. It is designed for eligible covered tire damage caused by roadway hazards such as potholes, nails, glass, or other road debris on a public roadway.

Mercedes-Benz Original Tires, including MO Tires, are engineered to complement the performance, comfort, braking, and handling characteristics of Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Purchasing tires through Mercedes-Benz of Foothill Ranch also gives you access to factory-trained technicians who understand the exact tire specifications for your model.

How Long Does Tire Road Hazard Coverage Last?

The program brochure describes a 24-month coverage period beginning from the date shown on the original tire purchase invoice. Current program terms may also use remaining tread depth to determine eligibility, so our service team will confirm coverage status before a claim is submitted.

Based on the brochure details provided, eligible claims during months 1–12 may be covered up to the stated program maximum. During months 13–24, the customer may be responsible for 50% of the eligible replacement tire amount, with the program handling the eligible balance up to the stated program maximum. Program terms, state rules, tire eligibility, and claim authorization requirements govern every claim.

What May Be Covered?

  • Replacement of an eligible covered tire that becomes unserviceable during the coverage period because of a qualifying road hazard.
  • Covered tire damage caused by a qualifying condition on a public roadway, such as potholes, nails, glass, or road debris.
  • Eligible tires purchased from and installed by a participating Mercedes-Benz retailer.
  • Claims reviewed by the program administrator after inspection, documentation, and prior authorization.

What May Not Be Included?

The brochure lists exclusions and limitations. Common examples may include cosmetic tire concerns, tire damage outside the coverage period, tire damage when tread depth does not meet current program requirements, non-participating facility replacements, off-road use, collision damage, vandalism, manufacturer defect or recall situations, tire pressure monitoring components, wheels, mounting, balancing, taxes, fees, or other related items unless current written terms state otherwise.

This page is a summary for convenience and does not replace the full program terms and conditions. Please speak with a Mercedes-Benz of Foothill Ranch service advisor for current program details, eligibility, limitations, and claim requirements.

How to File a Tire Road Hazard Claim

  1. Bring your Mercedes-Benz vehicle, the covered tire, and the original tire purchase invoice to Mercedes-Benz of Foothill Ranch or another participating Mercedes-Benz retailer.
  2. A service advisor will inspect the tire, confirm current eligibility, and document the damage.
  3. Prior authorization must be obtained from the program administrator before replacement.
  4. After approval, the participating Mercedes-Benz retailer will complete the eligible tire replacement and required claim paperwork.

To begin, schedule service online or call (949) 328-8888.

Road Hazard Coverage vs. Wheel & Tire Protection

The MBUSA Tire Program Road Hazard Program and Mercedes-Benz Wheel & Tire Protection are separate programs. Tire road hazard coverage may be included with eligible tire purchases through participating Mercedes-Benz retailers. Wheel & Tire Protection is a separate protection product with its own eligibility, term, covered items, and agreement details.

Our team can help you understand which program may apply to your situation and how to proceed if your Mercedes-Benz vehicle experiences tire or wheel damage.
