Meet the New 2027 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Sedan

August 17th, 2026 by

A familiar favorite is entering a new era. Mercedes-Benz has announced the new 2027 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Sedan, introducing the most comprehensive technological update in the history of the model series. With a more expressive exterior, an elevated interior, advanced MB.OS technology and a further-developed electrified combustion engine, the latest C-Class brings meaningful innovation to one of the most recognizable Mercedes-Benz sedans.

The new Mercedes-Benz C-Class Sedan is expected to arrive at U.S. dealerships in the first half of 2027. For drivers throughout Foothill Ranch, Irvine, Lake Forest and Trabuco Canyon, here is an early look at what the new 2027 C-Class Sedan will offer.

A More Expressive Mercedes-Benz C-Class Design

The new 2027 Mercedes-Benz C-Class retains its athletic proportions while gaining a stronger visual identity at both the front and rear. A redesigned radiator grille incorporates chrome stars into the signature Mercedes-Benz pattern, while LED illumination integrated into the chrome grille surround adds a distinctive nighttime appearance. The central Mercedes-Benz star is also illuminated.

A gloss-black panel visually connects the grille and headlamps, while new star-design daytime running lights create a recognizable light signature. That star motif continues at the rear with newly designed taillights, giving the C-Class a coordinated appearance from every angle.

Updated front and rear bumpers further emphasize the sedan’s sporty character, while newly developed 18-inch wheels and additional available 18- and 19-inch wheel designs provide more opportunities for personalization. Two new exterior finishes are also joining the color palette: Miami Silver Metallic and Moody Sky Grey Metallic.

New AMG® Line Plus Styling

For the first time on the C-Class, Mercedes-Benz will offer an available AMG® Line Plus package. Building on AMG® Line styling, AMG® Line Plus adds details designed to create an even more dynamic appearance, including a gloss-black spoiler lip and tailpipe trim, the Night Package, sport seats with red contrast stitching and red seat belts.

The exterior experience also extends beyond the bodywork. LED projectors integrated into the side sills can project a Mercedes-Benz pattern onto the ground when the doors are opened, while the exterior mirrors project the Mercedes-Benz star alongside the vehicle.

An Elevated, Technology-Focused Interior

Inside, the 2027 Mercedes-Benz C-Class combines the sporty character of the model with design and technology influences from the latest Mercedes-Benz S-Class. A 12.3-inch high-resolution driver display places important vehicle information directly in front of the driver, while the portrait-oriented 11.9-inch central multimedia display provides access to primary infotainment and vehicle functions.

The redesigned multifunction steering wheel introduces an ergonomic control layout with a rocker for available Distance Assist DISTRONIC and a roller for volume adjustment. Capacitive controls are integrated into the steering wheel and provide haptic feedback.

Mercedes-Benz is also expanding the interior personalization available in the C-Class. New Beech Brown upholstery will be offered in MB-Tex, leather and Nappa leather, while Cherry Red will be available in MB-Tex. New Natural Grain Birch Wood and High-Gloss Silver Metallic trim elements further broaden the available cabin configurations.

MB.OS and the Latest Generation of MBUX

One of the most significant updates to the new C-Class is the introduction of the Mercedes-Benz Operating System, or MB.OS. The centralized platform manages multiple vehicle domains and enables over-the-air software updates, helping compatible vehicle functions remain current over time.

MB.OS also supports the fourth generation of MBUX and its new AI-powered MBUX Virtual Assistant. The system incorporates artificial intelligence technologies from ChatGPT, Microsoft Bing and Google Gemini to support more natural, multi-turn conversations while retaining conversational context.

Drivers can use the MBUX Virtual Assistant for general information, navigation questions, points of interest, weather information and entertainment requests. The assistant can even help identify music or podcast content based on conversational context and begin playback through the infotainment system.

Navigation Powered by Google Technology

Navigation in the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class is based on Google technology and integrates Google Maps with the Automotive AI Agent from Google Cloud. The system is designed to provide more useful conversational information about destinations and points of interest while supporting clear route guidance.

MBUX Surround Navigation further enhances situational awareness by combining information from the vehicle’s exterior cameras and sensors with a real-time 3D representation of the vehicle and surrounding traffic. An available MBUX Augmented Reality Head-up Display can also project relevant navigation information within the driver’s field of view.

More Ways to Personalize the Cabin

Ambient lighting continues to play an important role in the C-Class interior. The new model provides 64 individual colors and ten color worlds, with lighting extending along the center console, instrument panel and front and rear door areas. Drivers can choose between five brightness levels and four dimming zones.

Lighting can also communicate information to occupants. For example, ambient lighting can respond to climate-control adjustments, while Blind Spot Assist can use red illumination in the door-handle area to provide an additional visual warning when another road user is detected.

For an enhanced listening experience, an available Burmester® 3D Surround Sound System with Dolby Atmos features 15 speakers and a 710-watt amplifier. Occupants can adjust the spatial effect across ten levels and focus playback toward the first or second row.

Electrified 2.0-Liter Turbocharged Performance

The gas-powered 2027 Mercedes-Benz C-Class uses a further-developed M 254 EVO 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine paired with 48-volt mild-hybrid technology. The engine produces 255 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque.

A second-generation integrated starter-generator, known as ISG 2.0, can support the combustion engine with up to 23 horsepower and 151 lb-ft at lower engine speeds. Mercedes-Benz says the 48-volt system also enables functions such as coasting and energy recuperation while contributing to smoother engine starting and stopping.

A newly developed electric auxiliary compressor is another important addition. Powered by the 48-volt electrical architecture, it can spool within milliseconds to complement the exhaust-gas turbocharger and help provide responsive, linear acceleration. An overboost function can also provide an additional 27 horsepower for approximately 20 seconds when conditions permit.

Revised Suspension for Greater Agility

Mercedes-Benz has further developed the C-Class suspension with the goal of combining more responsive handling with the long-distance comfort expected from the sedan. A stiffer connection and newly tuned adjustable damping help reduce body movement and provide more direct responses.

The chassis continues to use a four-link front suspension and a multi-link rear design. Mercedes-Benz has also focused on cabin refinement with aerodynamic and acoustic improvements, including redesigned exterior mirrors, additional windshield sealing and updated exhaust-system mounting. The new C-Class achieves a drag coefficient starting at 0.24, depending on configuration.

Advanced MB.DRIVE Driver and Parking Assistance

The new Mercedes-Benz C-Class incorporates a comprehensive suite of driver and parking assistance technology supported by eight cameras, five radar sensors and 12 ultrasonic sensors.

Key assistance technologies announced for the new C-Class include:

  • MB.DRIVE Standard assistance for functions including lane keeping, following distance, braking and acceleration.
  • Maneuvering Assist, which can help brake the vehicle when reversing at low speeds if an imminent collision risk is detected.
  • Digital Extra: MB.DRIVE PARKING ASSIST 360 with a 360-degree camera and enhanced surround-view displays.
  • Digital Extra: Reverse Maneuvering Function, which can automatically retrace part of a recently driven route in reverse under certain conditions.
  • Available next-generation DIGITAL LIGHT with micro-LED technology for an expanded high-resolution field of illumination.
