Updated AMG® V8 Biturbo Performance

At the heart of the 2027 Mercedes-AMG® GLS 63 is the thoroughly revised AMG® M177 EVO engine. This 4.0-liter V8 biturbo powertrain produces 603 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque, delivering the confident performance expected from a flagship Mercedes-AMG® SUV.

The updated engine includes a new flat-plane crankshaft, modified intake camshaft, optimized fuel injection system, newly designed intake and exhaust ports, and refinements to the compressor wheel and turbocharger housing. Together, these engineering enhancements support precise response, strong power delivery, and improved efficiency while preserving the unmistakable character of an AMG® V8.

Built in Affalterbach according to the “One man, one engine” philosophy, the M177 EVO continues a celebrated Mercedes-AMG® tradition. In the 2027 Mercedes-AMG® GLS 63, this powertrain helps the SUV accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds and reach an electronically limited top speed of 174 mph.

ISG 2.0 Mild-Hybrid Technology

The 2027 Mercedes-AMG® GLS 63 pairs its revised V8 engine with mild-hybrid technology featuring a new-generation Integrated Starter Generator, known as ISG 2.0, and an additional 48-volt electrical system. This system supports power delivery at lower engine speeds with up to 23 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque.

ISG 2.0 also enables energy recuperation during deceleration and refined operation of the start/stop function. The result is a more responsive and modern AMG® driving experience that feels composed during daily driving and highly capable when the road opens up.

New AMG® Performance Exhaust System

The 2027 Mercedes-AMG® GLS 63 features a newly developed AMG® Performance exhaust system designed to highlight the character of the V8 engine. With standard exhaust valve control, the driver can adjust the sound profile based on the selected AMG® DYNAMIC SELECT drive program.

Comfort mode provides a more restrained exhaust note, while Sport+ delivers a more dynamic AMG® sound. The system can also adapt to the current driving situation, allowing the Mercedes-AMG® GLS 63 to feel refined during everyday travel and more expressive during spirited driving.

Bold AMG® Exterior Design

The new Mercedes-AMG® GLS 63 introduces a completely redesigned front end that gives this full-size performance SUV an even stronger visual presence. The AMG®-specific radiator grille, enlarged air intakes, and LED headlamps with an exclusive AMG® light signature create a distinctive first impression.

At the rear, striking twin tailpipes from the AMG® Performance exhaust system and a performance-oriented diffuser design reinforce the SUV’s powerful character. The result is a commanding Mercedes-AMG® design that feels equally at home near Irvine Spectrum, Portola Springs, Baker Ranch, Lake Forest, and throughout Southern California.

AMG® RIDE CONTROL+ Air Suspension

Standard AMG® RIDE CONTROL+ air suspension with adaptive damping helps the 2027 Mercedes-AMG® GLS 63 deliver a wide range of driving characteristics. The system continuously adapts to the driving situation, supporting confident dynamics and refined comfort.

In Sport and Sport+ drive programs, the ride height lowers by 0.4 inches to support handling. In Comfort mode, the vehicle also lowers by 0.4 inches at speeds of 75 mph and above to help minimize drag, improve efficiency, and enhance stability. When additional ground clearance is needed, the ride height can be raised by up to 0.8 inches at the push of a button.

The Trail drive program increases ride height by 2.2 inches for off-road driving, while damping control, AMG® ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL, and the 4MATIC®+ all-wheel-drive system adapt to the driving situation.

AMG® ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL for Precise Handling

The 2027 Mercedes-AMG® GLS 63 is equipped with AMG® ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL active roll stabilization. This system helps reduce body roll in corners and contributes to stable, precise handling for a confident driving feel.

Active electromechanical stabilizers with AMG®-specific control are fitted on both axles. Sensors analyze the driving situation and road surface up to 1,000 times per second, allowing the system to compensate for body movement with exceptional precision. The system also supports capability when traveling over uneven terrain.

AMG® Performance 4MATIC®+ and AMG® Locking Rear Differential

AMG® Performance 4MATIC®+ all-wheel drive with fully variable torque distribution helps the 2027 Mercedes-AMG® GLS 63 deliver optimal traction across a range of conditions. The front and rear driveshafts are specially designed for the high torque output of the M177 EVO engine.

The standard electronically controlled AMG® locking rear differential further enhances agility by distributing power between the rear wheels based on driving conditions and the selected ESP® mode. This system helps improve traction, stability, and cornering performance, while offering refined behavior during low-speed maneuvering and city driving.

AMG® DYNAMIC SELECT Drive Programs

AMG® DYNAMIC SELECT allows drivers to tailor the character of the 2027 Mercedes-AMG® GLS 63 at the touch of a button. Comfort mode focuses on smooth gear changes, refined steering, and overall ease of driving. Sport and Sport+ increase dynamic response with quicker gear changes, firmer suspension and steering tuning, and more direct throttle response.

Trail and Slippery modes are designed to support traction and control in more challenging conditions, including off-road environments and icy or snow-covered roads. Individual mode allows the driver to personalize vehicle settings according to preference.

Exclusive 23-Inch AMG® Wheel Options

The new Mercedes-AMG® GLS 63 offers an expanded selection of AMG® and AMG® forged wheel designs. Two new wheel options extend up to 23 inches, including a new 23-inch multi-spoke design and a distinctive five-spoke monoblock wheel.

These wheel designs enhance the commanding stance of the Mercedes-AMG® GLS 63 and underscore its performance-focused appearance. For drivers who want a full-size luxury SUV with unmistakable AMG® presence, the updated wheel selection adds another level of personalization.

A High-Quality, Digital AMG® Interior

Inside the 2027 Mercedes-AMG® GLS 63, drivers and passengers are welcomed by an elegant cabin that blends sportiness, luxury, and advanced digital technology. The latest-generation AMG® Performance steering wheel is available in Nappa leather, microfiber, Nappa leather/microfiber, or microfiber/carbon fiber.

Standard AMG® DRIVE UNIT steering wheel buttons provide direct access to key performance functions. Upholstery choices include Black, Macchiato Beige, Beech Brown, and Red Pepper Nappa leather, along with exclusive MANUFAKTUR Yacht Blue, Tartufo Brown, and Carmine Red Nappa leather options.

Available AMG® Carbon Fiber trim and a standard microfiber headliner further emphasize the performance character of the cabin. The new MB.OS operating system with high-resolution displays presents AMG®-specific information such as torque distribution, G-forces, and detailed engine parameters in crisp digital clarity.

Expanded MANUFAKTUR Personalization

The MANUFAKTUR program gives 2027 Mercedes-AMG® GLS 63 drivers even more ways to personalize their SUV. Exterior paint options include MANUFAKTUR Cirrus Silver Magno, Patagonia Red Metallic, Mystic Blue Metallic, Moonlight White Metallic, Alpine Grey, Moonlight White Magno, Silicon Grey, Côte d’Azur Light Blue Metallic, and Ireland Mid Green Metallic.
