It’s going to take some time to build the Mercedes-Benz High-Power Charging Network, so Tesla is stepping in to help. Because even though the Los Angeles area has more charging stations than any other U.S. city, we need even more to increase how many drivers can switch to emission-free vehicles. In 2024, Mercedes-Benz EV drivers can use the Tesla Supercharger network. This network includes over 12,000 charging stations. They’ll be easy to find, too, because they’ll be accessible in Mercedes me Charge, which already lists over 90,000 charging points. Finding the best route to a Tesla Supercharger will be easy because they’ll also be in Navigation with Electric Intelligence.
But that’s not all Mercedes-Benz is doing to make EV charger access widespread and easy. Not only will the Mercedes-Benz High-Power Charging Network be the largest in the United States, but they’ll also be equipped with CCS1 and NACS plugs so many makes can be charged. By 2025, all Mercedes-Benz electric vehicles will meet the North America Charging Standard. We’re the first German automaker to take this vital step in EV charging accessibility.
Another news that you should know about is Mercedes-Benz’s partnership with six other automakers– Kia, BMW Group, Honda, General Motors, Hyundai, and Stellantis NV– to establish a revolutionary charging network across North America. This network will have at least 30,000 high-powered charge points in both urban and highway locations. With these additional stations, electric vehicle owners can charge their cars whether they’re going on their daily commutes or they’re on a road trip.
Not only will these owners be able to refuel their cars, but they will also be able to relax and refuel their energy while waiting for their vehicles. These seven automakers want to deliver a “best-in-class charging experience” that will please current owners of electric cars and also appeal to drivers who are on the fence about switching to electric power because they were concerned about not having convenient charging in their area.
